What is reality? It’s how you choose to see, look at and interpret the information presented to you each day. Controlling how you see reality can ensure that you stay positive and motivated, even when life seems to be falling apart around you. To do this, you must adjust the way you process information. That can heavily depend on your personality, which is the sum total of your character and is driven by your beliefs and thoughts. In other words, it’s driven by your conscious and subconscious minds.
Your Conscious Mind: Essentially, your conscious brain is represented by the decisions you make and the actions you take. It analyzes the data of experiences you’ve had and comes to a realization or decision that you’re generally aware of. There’s one exception that occurs when we choose to interpret reality differently than it actually is. This influences your perceptions, imposes illusions (whether true or false) and changes the way you see things.
Your Subconscious Mind: Your subconscious mind operates on an inner level. It’s more aligned with your right brain, which is where ideas, inspirations, purpose and passions originate. It’s also where your intuition and gut instinct come from—when they surface, you can listen to, follow and make them work for you.
The subconscious may be invisible, but it’s a powerful part of who you are and what you become. If you don’t work to control it, the subconscious can completely undermine your positivity and success. Mastering it is vital to creating a positive edge lifestyle. You may consciously think to yourself, “Of course I want success!” But lurking underneath that thought are subconscious forces sabotaging your progress. That’s because your subconscious is at work to protect you by keeping you safe within your comfort zone, maintaining the status quo—so you never feel that grave sense of disappointment that comes with failure.
The subconscious doesn’t understand that it may be preventing you from achieving the success that you want and desire, but it will once you put a stop to it.
