Tips for Success Taught by Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs is known as the father of the digital revolution and had a net worth of over $10 billion at death. He is quite possibly the greatest innovator of my time and someone I truly admired. Although, he’s missed by many I will never forget some of the tips for success that he taught me during his lifetime.

  1. Have passion: You have to have a lot of passion for what you are doing. If you don’t have a passion for what you do then it’s easy to give up when things don’t go your way or if success doesn’t come immediately for you. If you don’t love what you do or don’t find any sense of passion in what you do then you aren’t going to have success. Have a passion for what you do!2. Recruit and build a great team:  The greatest people are self -managed .They don’t need to be managed once they know what to do they will go do it no matter what it takes. That’s the idea of leadership. Leadership is having a vision and being able to articulate that to a team of individuals in order to accomplish your goal. A huge facet of leadership is recruiting the right individuals to form a team. Cohesion is crucial and everyone must play a vital role. Recruiting is huge when it comes to forming a successful team!
  2. Never do it for the money: Steve Jobs was worth over a million dollars at the age of 23, over $10 million at the age of 24, and over $100 million at 25. This is important because the things he did were never driven by the idea of money, they were driven by the idea of success. Sure, money can be a driving force for some but there has to be another underlying outcome that an individual seeks in order to attain this success. Don’t let money be that driving factor!4. Have products your proud of: Steve Jobs (and Apple’s) goal was to make the best personal computers in the world and products that they were proud of. You have to have a sense of pride in your products or you will never be able to sell them. When you are proud of your products and have a sense of pride in your business then the items will come off the shelves without much effort.5. Live Life Fully: You can be the most successful person in the world but at the end of the day can you say that you’ve lived your life to the fullest? In today’s fast paced environment it’s so easy to get wrapped up in work and success but make sure you take time to cherish everything else that life has to offer. Live life to the fullest!
