Last night, I was sitting on the couch working late trying to get caught up on some of the things I had pushed to the back burner earlier in the week. We have had some recent changes at the office and priorities were being shifted around to different employees, including myself. After feeling frustrated about the recent changes and the shift in responsibilities I was reminded of an old classmate who passed away in 2007. His motto in life was, “Find what you love in life and DO IT.” How true is that in every aspect of our lives. Do we really want to work with people who don’t love what they do? Do we really want people working for our companies if they don’t love and have enthusiasm about our business?
After thinking long and hard about this, I thought to myself I found what I loved in life and I’m doing it. How many others can say the same? Do the people that work WITH you and FOR you love what they do?
I challenge each of you to ask yourself, “Are you doing what you love?” And “Are your co-workers and employees doing what they love?” If you aren’t and they aren’t what are you going to do to change that?
Find what you love and do it.
