Meriam-Webster Dictionary defines “mother” as: (noun) “a woman in relation to a child or children to whom she has given birth.” Yes, that definition is politically correct but when we look at our mother’s we all have a different definition of them. In recognition of Mother’s Day this weekend I thought I would define a mother through my eyes.
I personally would define a mother in the following way, because that is what my mom is to me. A mother is a best friend, your biggest supporter, a role model, and the person you strive to be every day. A hard working, loving, caring woman, and the most unselfish person you know. In my eyes my mother is everything that I am striving to be to my own daughter.
The day their child is born, a mother’s life changes in a big, but extraordinarily good way. From that day on their life isn’t about them anymore; it is about their child(ren). Anything and everything that moms do they take their children’s best interests into consideration. Being a mom is a scary and exciting experience because all you want to do is what is best for your child, but, at least for me, I know I had a great mother as a role model and I only hope to be half the person my mom was to me and my brother.
To all the hardworking, loving, and selfless mothers out there, we (your children) thank you and love you!
Happy Mother’s Day!
